Sometimes, I wish marvel comics had minor reboots like DC comics has done with their crisis events because I can see some potential in these concepts that were definitely wasted. That's why I decided to revamp thos character here.

Real Name: Jacqueline "Jackie" Tavarez

Alias: Nightcat

Occupation: Singer/Street Level vigilante by night

Abilities: She is a mutant with cat-like abilities. These abilities only activate at night, leaving her human during the day. These include fangs, retractable claws, night vision, enhanced agility, etc. She trains to keep herself fit throughout the day with martial arts training.

Backstory: Jackie had a relatively happy childhood but her parents became all the more protective of her after he mutant powers started to manifest at night. As a teen, she admired Dazzler. Not just because of her singing talent but because she was a mutant that wasn't afraid to be in the public. One night, she escaped her room to see her in concert when an anti-mutant hate mob attacked the performance. While Dazzler managed to protect the audience and took care of most of them, one member of the group noticed Jackie and, using a mutant gene scanner, saw that she was a mutant and chased her out of the building to kill her while the rest of his crew was being blinded by Dazzler.

As fate would have it, it was on this same night that Black Cat was doing a heist at a nearby bank. Seeing the teenage girl running for her life from the violent man, Felicia stopped what she was doing and rescued her, knocking the man unconscious and walking her back home. After this night, Jackie is inspired by these two and creates her own super hero identity when she goes off to college.

Personality: Jackie is definitely a fangirl of both Felicia and Allison and her two personas reflect that. She's an outgoing singer that's for mutant rights during the day and ass kicking vigilante by night. While she's not the brightest, she's got a good heart and wants to help make the world a better place.
