Description
Magic Armor Link had always been a dream costume of mine. Really loved the design of his armor, from the bright metallic golds to the embroidery on his tunic to the gems. Every year, I had added him to my list of future costumes to make and finally in 2015, I finally made him a priority. When I was in LA's fabric district, I took the opportunity to find some amazing fabrics to use for him; brown Italian leather, faux velvet, stiff gold vinyl.

Link was made over a few months, the majority of his armor being constructed from Worbla with a craft foam base. The gems were all casted by a dear friend of mine. All golden appliques were satin stitched onto the fabric, taking 20+ hours for each piece.

After wearing him once in 2015 to Youmacon, I never touched the costume again, just wasn't too happy with the paint job on it. But when doing some research for locations for shoots local to here, I realized that... we actually have a castle-like building downtown!

I remade the undersuit in a few hours out of a 2-way stretch diamond printed knit. The shirt laces up fully in the back with hand punched grommets.

It was incredibly fun to wear him again, even during the humid summer. This definitely has to be my favorite shoot of the year. This set was also featured on Cosplay Amino, which I'm super appreciative for!
