Description
I read "East of the Sun West of the Moon" w/ illustrations by Mercer Mayer yesterday. His style of painting/drawing is completely crazy to me. It's not COMPLETELY realistic, but close to it and just basically awe-some. I was sketching w/ my friend after reading that book and we were trying to produce something inspired by Mercer Mayer's work. This thing isn't nearly as good as what he does, but it's something .. I called it Asild-Neth. It's a wind/water elemental creature and is a lowerclass citizen in the world it inhabits. All the upperclass citizens have names that end w/ the suffix "Neht", and the Queen's suffix is "E". There is no middle class, kind of like where we're headed now. The male creatures have different suffixes: Sith=lowerclass; Siht=upperclass; I=King. The King and Queen are the most truthful of all their species, and that is why they're royalty.
