            ***Before I begin, I should say this is myfourth giveaway. This is truly a monthly thing. I understand that if you’ve already participated, you might not want to re-read everything. Just a reminder- If you don’t follow the rules you won’t get any points (Just remember that I’ve been changing it up. 100+ people enter and this goes up to an 800 point giveaway)***

Do you want free points? Is entering contest after contest and waiting for weeks to hear about the results too tedious? DO YOU NOT WANT TO LEAVE YOUR LIFE UP TO FATE?!

            Okay, well, that just sounded like an infomercial. But, seriously. I’ve been there and I think it kinda sucks. Now its my turn to be the one offering up free points, and I’m changing it up a bit. No ‘random number chooser’, no ‘100th watcher’. I am offering a chance for everyone participating to earn free points. What I ask in return? An answer. An answer to a monthly riddle (or two). If you can answer correctly, you WILL get points. It doesn’t matter if you are the first to answer, or if you are the 42nd.

            Still not understanding? I’ll break it down- Every month, I will write riddles and hide them throughout my profile. They will be hidden in different ways, for example for Easter last year I hid Easter Eggs, and the time before I had a sort of treasure hunt. Most times I will have a story line, to make this giveaway a bit different from others. This is for those who want entertainment and humor, as opposed to just mindless faving and commenting. And, in return, you WILL get points, no matter what. If you enter, there is no way you cannot win.

How to enter

·         Make sure you are watching me (So you can keep up to date with monthly riddles)

·         Include in your comment below ‘I’m ready to solve the Riddle of the Sphinx’. I need to know that you read the rules.

·         Tag at least three friends who you think might be interested. If everyone who enters gets free points, why not get your friends in on it?

Point Distribution

            I have 400 points to distribute. Now, this does NOT mean that everyone is going to get 400 points. Heck no. I don’t have that many points. I will divide 400 points amongst everyone who enters.

Examples-

40 people enter, each get 10 points.

10 people enter, each get 40 points

100+ people enter, I will increase the point value to 800 points that I’m giving away.

There is a way to get additional points, and that is to advertise this in a journal. Sometimes I will have hidden riddles on my page, but not for this month.

(So, frankly guys, you might want to get as many people as possible in this thing…)

·         You have three chances for hints, but use them wisely. I created these riddles to be fairly easy.

·         When you have answered the final riddle, do as the instructions say and then wait. I cannot give everyone their points until I know how many people are in it. Complaining or noting me about it is unnecessary. No matter what, if you get to the end, you will receive points. I promise you this. Ready, Set… Go?

      Well well well, you have come back. Again. Of course. Well, I AM in need of some assistance, so I do hope you are one of those rumored ‘intelligent mortals’ that my friend arch-nemesis ( ) sometimes talks about. Beggars can’t be choosers, right? Although, from what I heard around the grapevine, that saying was started by a politician who gave VERY bad gifts… But that’s beside the point, is it not?

                The real reason I need you here today is because of a tiny little problem that just sprung up involving someone harassing me. Truthfully, this has happened in the past (“Oh, Miss Sphinx, I have SUCH better riddles than you” and “HA, LOSER YOUR RIDDLES SUUUUCK”), so I have an idea of who it may be. BUT, in case I am wrong, I am asking you to track this person down and tell me who she is.

                She told me she’d reveal to me her identity if I solved her riddles and played her little game, but I am MUCH too above doing anything like that. And she has SO MANY OF THEM! So… Uh… You do it.

                Here is the first riddle to get you started. She told me that the rest of the riddles will be based on this theme, so make sure you get it right-

I’m great, I’m vast, just don’t call be wide-

I’m mighty and powerful, you I’ll chide.

I’m home to many wonderful creatures,

I think you’ll find I have quite lovely features.

In different weather I may toss and turn,

But unless you’re a ship, it’s no concern.

What am I?

                Here’s what I need you to do- Solve the riddles! Once you have the answer to this riddle, you must go to my gallery ( hazelstar67.deviantart.com/gal… ) and find the picture there that corresponds with the answer. In case you didn’t understand- If the answer was the Sphinx, you’d find the picture in my gallery that was of an amazing, beautiful, caring, understanding Sphinx like myself. Once you find it, go to the description and follow the instructions from there.

                This unnamed harasser has told me she has left puzzle pieces in the descriptions- UGH, what a CLICHÉ PIECE OF… No, I shall not continue. It will only make her win. No. Must stay calm. Must… Stay… Calm- Anyways, you must collect all 20 puzzle pieces to figure out what type of creature she is.

                Once you have figured out who and what she is, send me a note. I will guide you to the last place and you must comment, thereby signifying to me that you are a winner and you have helped me with this TERRIBLE problem- SHE WILL BE EXTERMINATED! Or… You know, something. Something will most definitely happen to her, be sure of that!

                I have some twisted sort of faith in you. Please do not fail me, or I will not stop to listen to your cries of pain when I devour you. But in the past, mortals have not proven that they are TOO dim-witted, so I am hoping the same goes for you. You look intelligent enough… Although, I have not corresponded with mortals for thousands of years. I cannot say for certain what intellect looks like on a creature of your status.
