Description [EDIT]: ALL RIGHT! A DAILY DEVIATION!!

(Drum roll, please) And now! My PIECE DE RESISTANCE!!!! (or however you say that) This is my latest and absolute BEST piece of work, that I have yet to make!

Idolomantis Diabolica: the Giant Devils Flower Mantis.

1st place AND Best In Show winner of the 'Mastodon Regional Art\Science fair of 2009! THAT'S 2 YEARS IN A ROW, MAN! Out 3000+ participants(including science)! This baby also got me a scholarship and savings bond! AND it got to be shown in a local professional art gallery.

The base is made of found drift wood and granite. The mantis is made of polymer clay. (What else?) It is 21 inches tall, including the base. And it's life size.

This IS a real species of insect. It's from Africa.
