Description Not the most inventive title but it works.
This is the second of my mostly failed 5-sculptures-in-5-days thing(or whatever it was) and is the one that took longer than it should have. Those fingers! Those fingers were so hard! I had to use a stiffer wire, stainless steel, which clay does not like to stick to at all. I ended up roughing them up with a file and then coated them with the Liquid Sculpey stuff, baked the stuff on and then put the clay on top of that. The thing is, looking back on it, I really should have used the epoxy type clays instead, because that would have been SO much easier.
Anyway, it's the Slenderman, one of the creepiest creepers there is! This Lovecraftian shadow has got to be one of the best fictional entities I've seen. Easily portrayed as a villain, a character, a monster and a force, all with complete continuity. And the best thing is, he's public domain! I'm gonna make him a sizable part of "the Crossover Project," he'd fit right it.

I went with a shadowier picture here because he's the Slenderman. Duh.
I might paint him later.

I am a sculptor who mainly uses polymer clays and epoxy clays to make my projects. I specialize in animal and non-human characters. I could do a human character but I promise nothing. My work speaks for itself, as do my customers. I am willing to do an art trade but because of the inherent nature of sculpture work, I can all but guarantee you won't like the terms. Because of the responsibilities of life and the complexities of sculpture work, it is very difficult for me to give an accurate date of completion. If project is needed by a certain time, be sure to contact me well before you need it; especially for something like a wedding cake topper or a gift of some sort. Some projects may take a few weeks while others take months.
[NOTE: Some examples given are a few years old and are not necessarily a reflection of my current sculpting abilities. My skill have improved since the time these pieces were completed.]

Very iconic. Looks great for a 'failed sculpture.'

Well, the sculpture itself turned out alright. The failure was my personal challenge, 5 sculptures in a week; didn't get anywhere near it.

ive been thinking about doing something like this for an art project! what kind of wire did you use?

I used some heavy gauge stainless steel wire that made up the main armature. Really, I can't think of any other kind of wire that would work like this. Like copper wire, that would never be enough to support a sculpture like this. It has to be rigid enough and strong enough to hold itself up but not so rigid that it breaks when you try to bend it.
