Description "And as the world comes to an end,
I'll be here to hold your hand.
Cuz you're my king and I'm your lionheart."
-Of Monsters and Men "King and Lionheart"

No matter what the ignorant public throws at Sherlock, no matter how hard they try to defame him and bring him down, John will always be there. Sherlock's his King and he's Sherlock's Lionheart ♥♥♥

Manip done with PS Elements 10.

Don't own BBC, Sherlock, or anything related. 'Tis for fun only.

Comments and critiques are greatly adored, my beauties! What do y'all think?? Love or loathe?

Eeee thanks!! I must say that I really am proud of this one.

Say, wasn't one of your pieces nominated for the Face Your Fears contest?? Didn't I see your piece there?

PresidentWeasel In reply to HeadmistressMercedes [2012-06-26 05:45:23 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome, you should be very proud
And yeah, it was. It's called 'Water's Edge', and it is pretty terrible compared with most of the others (yours included, I voted for you because I can totally identify with it and it was a really well-written little story ) I was really shocked actually. I didn't even realize there was an actual prize or anything until after I had submitted it. I just felt like writing something, and that seemed like the perfect excuse.

Awww really? Thanks so much! I admit that I'm pretty much stoked just to be thought of in such a contest! Whether I win or not is not really that important, but I'm SO FRIGGIN' HAPPY to be in a place where my writing isn't just dismissed as something that depressed, emo people do. That it's liked for it's STYLE, rather then the social stigma that can be attached to writing poetry and prose.

PresidentWeasel In reply to HeadmistressMercedes [2012-06-26 06:01:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know what you mean. I don't usually write sad stuff, mostly just (sad attempts at) funny or if I'm in a particularly violent mood something with plenty of black humor and gore. But because of the fact that I WRITE at all people think that I just write emo stuff and label me as such. I don't even look like one, let alone act like one!

They just don't understand us and our art, dear. *dramatic pose and scarf flick over shoulder*

Agreed whole-heartedly, my dear. Me too...I don't look or act like a stereotypical emo, but I write POETRY...so I MUST be one on the inside.

Or...y'know...not.

Exactly

Just to radically change the subject here, do you mind if I forward this picture to a friend of mine? She's an avid Sherlockian and a fellow artist too, and I know she'll love this as much as I do. I'll give you full and 100% credit, of course

No, I keep telling her to get an account but she says that none of her work is good enough, etc etc. I don't know, maybe I'll manage to convince her one day.
I'll let you know what she says though, if you like

This is awesome. I loved that whole scene and I went all "squee" when Sherlock said take my hand And then John never let him go, even when they stopped running.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HeadmistressMercedes In reply to remanth [2012-06-26 05:14:42 +0000 UTC]

I know!! I squeal like a lil' piggy ever time I hear Sherlock say that, then giggle at John's response: "Now people will really talk!" I just think to myself "Hun, they were talking a loooooong time ago!"

Thanks dear! I admit that I'm rather proud of this. I was going to put the first two lines of those lyrics in the graphic itself, but it made for too much clutter, so I omitted them. I had to mention it, though, because as soon as I heard those lyrics, I thought of Reichenbach.

remanth In reply to HeadmistressMercedes [2012-06-26 05:16:41 +0000 UTC]

And it fits very well. And I agree, I started talking about it at the pool scene lol. Its one of my fav scenes in the whole series. The way they talk to each other without words always makes me go all melty And I do like it better without the lyrics on the picture. I think it would have detracted from the "graffiti" on the wall

HeadmistressMercedes In reply to remanth [2012-06-26 05:28:04 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it really was, and I don't have many good fonts to use, so I could even find one that could have looked LIKE the "graffiti". So yeah...

Ooooh the pool scene! Loves that one too! Love how Sherlock scratches his head with a gun...real smart there, Sherly But yes, that aside, I love the epic eye-contact between the two in that scene. And how absolutely gobsmacked Sherlock looks when John first comes in...like Sherlock's brain momentarily shut down...he really does look scared for a second.

remanth In reply to HeadmistressMercedes [2012-06-26 05:35:13 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, and the look on his face when John grabs Moriarty. And John's face when the gunsights are on Sherlock *swoons* That was a masterfully written scene and I loved how it ended in Scandal. And I did roll my eyes when Sherlock scratched his head with the gun. I mean, really? Bit of metal that shoots little pieces of metal at high velocities and you put it to your own head??

Bwahaha, I know...I'm like..."What, are you gonna eat donuts off that thing next? Silly Sherlock..." It reminds me of a scene from one of the worst movies of all time "Planet 9 from Outer Space." There is a part in that movie where a detective (or certainly what LOOKS to be one) does the exact same thing...hmm...wonder if that's where they got it from. I don't know if you've ever heard of Rifftrax, but they make fun of movies, and they noticed that too. Here, the clip starts at 3:14, but I urge you to watch the whole thing, if you haven't already...hilarious...[link]

Damn, this was a long note...

Oh yes, Rifftrax has taken up a lot of my time ^.^ And if you're interested, there's also Mystery Science Theater 3000. It was a TV show back in the 90's, same deal except the movies made fun of were mostly old sci-fi B movies. Same guys who do Rifftrax, and just as funny!
