Preliminary upload. I'm gonna do the write up in a little.God, my scanner eats cyans and blues. This was taken from my camera and with a little help from PS, it looks awesome!
Write-Up
Jeegeta loves to sport her red bathing suit when she feels flirty! Amongst her bathing suits, her red one is definitely her favorite because it matches her favorite hair ribbon. If she’s feeling more reserved she wears a one-piece black bathing suit.
Jeegeta isn’t much of a sea-beach person. She says the ocean has a funny smell and doesn’t even enjoy driving past ocean beaches. Jeegeta loves the pool though, since she can swim 365 days a year and sport her adorable swimsuits. Outdoor pools are her favorite; Jeegeta loves the sun and daylight. Her favorite pool activities include volleyball, marco polo and relaxing by the pool after swimming for a while and reading a good book, among many other things. Jeegeta doesn’t tan well so if she can find one, she prefers pools in the shade.
Materials: Copics, Prismacolors and white Acrylic on Canson Marker paper
Time: 7 hours
This was inspired by a Chobits picture and this by far is my most far-out of my comfort zone piece, ever...Love copics, want to get the airbrush system so bad!

Update: Finally, it seems my desktop has a better screen that my laptop and I was able to adjust a scan of it, so here is a sharper better color image!

This was great before, but the colors look a lot better! I know the screen difference feeling; since I got the new monitor for our desktop, I've been working a lot more on that than on the laptop. OSI makes a huge difference because it always seems that yellows are the most likely to get messed up between screens.

Yeah, I tried to find a reference with a similar pose and just couldn't find anything that really suited the idea I had for the picture. So I just used it as a reference and put the book away. Tis slightly different, Jeegeta is less foreshortened than Chi is and their legs and one arm are different. Chi looked too innocent, so I spiced it up.

I love the Chobits art! I had read the manga and didn't find the plot as appealing, but all the cute pinups of Chi and the ones where they mirror Freya in a similar picture, I love! I also really love their painting style, I wish I was that good with acrylics.

From underwater shots are hard. Good job. The effect might come out more if she was tinted just slightly blue below the water's surface.

Hmm, I understand. I was really experimenting with this whole piece and I had already messed up when being a little daring. On a real bright summer day, at least, with the pool that is at my house, the shallow end doesn't cast much of a water-y color onto whoever is swimming.

I know its not really blue, but just to make the under water look more potent if you want it.
It's still a really strong piece... Maybe your strongest so far in the OSI.

I did too. That's what took me the longest (relatively speaking) I mean, yes time wise the drawing took me longer, but I did each part in good time, while I took forever to do the write up which should have taken me 10 minutes max.

It was really hard to write about, cause you don't really think about what your character does in a swimsuit all the time.

Well, I knew the main points I wanted to cover, the fact that she's never been to the beach, the idea of getting her suit from Wal-Mart on sale, and that she'd be there during the slower times of the day

The scanner may eat up blues like you said, but it's relatively hard to tell here -- if anything it adds more awesome shine to the picture! And her faaaaaaaace....and the coloriiiiiiiing...

Thank you! I have it stuck to my door (since I took the pic of it on my door) and I can't stop staring at it. I hardly believe that it's my own work since I was basically flying by the seat of my pants for this one!
This is actually the camera one, not the scanner one. Seriously, stupid scanner made all the lovely teal, aquas and greens turn this disgusting cyan color and totally washed out the picture.

Thanks! This is actually the one I took with my camera, cause my scanner turned every form of blue this ugly cyan color and bleached the entire picture out. I was very angry.
