you're work is utterly stunning. the ability to capture light, texture and form in such detail is a skill I greatly admire. Youre work reminds me of Lucian Freud, especially this piece... the isolation and disconnection and yet obvious human presence reminds me of many of his nudes. I can't wait to explore youre gallery in more detail.

Hi, me again.I'm drooling over your gallery. Just saw this and was struck by it's resemblance to an idea I carried around for a while back in college, about trying to paint absence. And I just noticed shalpin's comment above...spot on! One of the sketches was a bed with the covers disarrayed and the shape of a body still visible in the sheet and pillow. But this is glorious. I can almost FEEL the cotton on my fingers and on my retina. It tingles.I love painting draperies too. What's THAT about, I wonder? No doubts, this is as figurative as any portrait; beautiful, subtle, thoughtful work.
