I had to paint that red wall...and I had to paint Heather's skin as it is so porcelain white that she's almost translucent!

Great work!
I wonder how many layers of paint you normally use? For example that red background; Is it painted wet-on-wet, or do you let it dry before putting next color on it? It looks really good.

your technique with the oil colors is incredible, i love how you keep the things very realistic, but still yet you keep your own unique style, which i really like
it's a pleasure to see your paintings, thank you (:

Trial and Error will help you improve.
Don't be intimidated by the paint.
Value is more important than colour (IMHO).
Look at your reference more than your canvas.
Use the largest brush possible.

Hope this helps.

very nice!! i love the way you paint flat surfaces, the amount of detail you put into them amazes me how long did this piece take you to do??? just curious.

lovely portrait, the red subdues the girl and makes for an interesting contrast that I get in to.

I went to Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. It was an illustration program, not a fine art program. However, a few of us decided to pursue a painting rather than illustrating careeer before graduation.

The colors are so great. It's a lot like those medieval artists who made the women have skin as white as milk contrasted on a red background. Love it!

wow that's very good.
I bought some canvases today. 40x60 and 50x70, pluss a small one for some minor things.

I kinda don't have any ideas or inspiration on what to paint.
you wouldn't have a suggestion would ya?

Big canvases like those scare me Small canvases are so much more appealing. I struggle with larger pieces. I'm not sure what you like to paint but give it time and perhaps an idea will come to the surface....

I've never tried to paint on a big canvas, so I figured it was worth a shot.
I'm don't have to much experience with painting, so there is alot I've never tried to paint before. I have some in my gallery here, though. *hints* haha just kidding about the hinting Thanks for taking your time replying to my message.
And keep painting forever
