Description "February 2005"
Oil On Canvas
48"x36"

Resubmitting this as a print. Probably the most important piece I have ever painted. Created the same month my mother had a severe stroke. It was my way of working through what I was feeling.

The tension of the piece is in the precarious balance of the figure on a very small stool, and the absolute stoic countenance of the subject in almost a fetal position. Its visceral and I fell your pain. There is the feeling of holding on when there is nothing else you can do—BUT—hold on. Powerful image.

i'm always amazed how quickly you are able to turn out such large pieces. it usually takes me about 40 or so hours working 18x24.
as usual, i love your brush work and color pallets as always :-D.

Wow, great.
Are you doing it (make art) for living or is it just for fun?
Because this is very professional!

Really gets across some of the dark lonely times that sad event must have put you through. Teetering on the stool makes you look uncomfortable, the colours of the floor seem sad and the almost "white-noise" nothingness of the wall. Very powerful.

Many thanks Yes it was VERY difficult...but it is our trials that show us how strong we are...
