This is a really interesting painting. The warm and cool colors give this painting an inviting peaceful feel. I like the way you used the wall around the tub as as a frame for us to focus on the figure.

this is such an amazing study of white on white. I cannot decide what I like more- the way you've painted her flesh or the the way the tiles are handled. Really beautiful!!

i have never been captivated by white bathroom tiles this way before! you paint white so perfectly. May i ask what color you use for the shadow parts of white? Thank you. It would be such a big help for me. Painting white always poses a big problem for me. So, if you could help me out, it would do wonders for my budding painting career!

The shadow parts of white? Hmm...generally for shadows I use a combination of ultramarine blue and burnt sienna...I don't use cobalt that frequently, same goes for cerulean. Hope this helps? I do recall using some alizarin crimson as well for some of the pinker hues.

Take care,

Heather

wow thanks! I used to use prussian blue and burnt umber, but it was too strong. Then i thought payne's gray would be easier, but it doesn't look right. Thanks so much for the tip! I'd be applying those when i get to paint my next piece. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!Take care also!

You have such skill in representing different and very complex textures and making them compliment each other. The hair, the skin, the towel, the tiles, the floor, the tub.. Wow. I especially like the tiles, how the window(?) on the wall on the opposite side reflects to it. Great work.

I love that you seem to pick the most difficult things to paint - and then you nail it! (parquet flooring, reflective tiles, bedding etc). Another lovely painting.
