Description Apophysis 7x, Photoshop CS5.1, and Paint.Net

This is one of those WIPs that changed completely from what I originally intended. But I went with it and I think I like where it ended.

It is actually not that hard to make very realistic sky-looking fractals. It just takes a lot of tweaks and reference pictures to get the right look. I actually wasnt going for a truly realistic look in this one (the stars in the clouds dont look 100% convincing), but I was going for more of a "the atmosphere is on fire" sort of feel. I have a basic idea, and let it change as I go (usually because I cant figure out how to do what I want to do). Apo is excellent for making cloud-like fractals. PS is great for planets, and PDN is good for water effects and color tweaks. Thanks my friend!
