Description Here is the final design with textures. This was done for my friend Patrick Hurd's in progress short film, "For Hire". I tend to be detail/design oriented and probably gave Patrick a bit more that he expected.
The design features a radial engine, fully operational flaps, static discharge wicks, and is autonomous. Also, the ammo shells get recycled within the gun pod. I did this for 2 reasons. First, it preserves the center of mass by trying to maintain it's weight (just like the F-18 Hornet does). Secondly, since this is a indie film project, I wanted to give Patrick the option of not having to deal with the extra time/expense of a particle system for the ejecting ammo shells.
Finally, the weird looking "bug head" is supposed to be the sensor array (like the AH-64) but without ripping off the design of the Apache's.

One other thing. Are the wings derivitive of an F-4?

As for you question on the F-4, no. I was inspired by flying wings in general and also maybe a bit by the F4U Corsair.

Hmm. I do see it now. I like your portrayal of it in blue. Corsair style. I think I'll keep that paint job. I am currently working on a list of off the shelf parts that I can use.I found the prop off an old German model plane.

Give me time to work up a model. It takes a bit.

Very cool, very detailed. I like your in depth research into the craft vis a vis the shell ejection.

I think this will make an excellent project for a scratch built.
