Description
Here is a design for a Unmanned Sea Vehicle (USV). I was already fascinated by UAV's in general and wanted to do a different take on it. The TRIDENT is a near future design grounded more in reality than in sci-fi fantasy. It was created for a personal project that I am working on.

The gun sits on a hexagonal tilting/rotating platform. The gun can be swapped out for other weapon modules. The Super 6 magazine is mounted on top of the platform and feeds the gun from the rear. I wanted to avoid using the standard-looking ammo "drum" and came up with hexagonal ring shape. Besides looking more interesting, the hex-ring shape distributes the weight more evenly which is a important design consideration.

The Azimuth Thruster can rotate 360 degrees to propel the unit. The thruster is propeller-less and features multiple water jets. I am assuming technological breakthroughs in the near future will allow such a small thruster pod to be practical.
