Love it! XD I can see this being something one-sided and Viet-Kun or Viet-chan getting annoyed or just rolling their eyes. XD

YES! Thank you for liking my headcanon.
I definitely see them in an odd relationship, both Americas and Vietnams, but not close to romantic (Same with Taiwan and Japan).
I see both Alfred and Emily being respectful and playful to their elders. They want to still remain out going, while trying, but failing to being mature.

I do love it.
They do have quite the strange relationship, do they? >w< yep, not romantic at all - if anything, Vietnam is more like a sister/mother/maternal/grandmotherly figure, while Viet-kun is more like that grouchy old neighbour who lives alone in his house and who the kids think is funny, but he's like, "Gtfo of my lawn..."
I can see that, too, though I sometimes imagine Emily going, "You're no fun..." and goes to hang out with someone else. Alfred, on the other hand, I can see him just tagging along with them regardless - especially with Viet-kun, though Quan dislikes how noisy Alfred is, because it makes the water buffalo nervous and even scared. XD

I love the grumpy, but caring elderly and loud, modern, but insecure teenage youth combo. Or any of elderly and youth combo.
Toph and Iroh was my biggest ATLA brotp!
Poor Quan. XD
I feel Taiwan would feel the same Japan at times. He's more of an straight forward business man that enjoys the peace, then going out with the youths, because he feels more old.
Though in human aus I make him like kind of like Shang from Mulan.
