How can his ancestors get around in arenas with no water? In Coliseum and Gale of Darkness (plus pretty much any game with them not on the handheld systems), Wailords and other fish Pokemon float in mid-air like balloons (or, in Wailords' cases, Goodyear blimps), so I just assumed some of that ability passed on to the Wailord-morphs as well.
...no one ever asks how they fit into Pokeballs, though.
