I guess this was only 'practise' - I needed to get back to drawing realism again after so long. Wasn't aiming to be accurate, and didn't want to use a ruler for the proportions. ;DI noticed =witchi1976 had used a reference from *xKimJoanne , so I looked at her gallery and her photos are an artist's delight.

I love this drawing of yours! Not only is it a beautiful model, but you captured such an innocent, kind of longing atmosphere in this drawing, it is breath taking. The hair must have been killing XD
But you did just amazing with it. Did you use ballpen again to darken it more?
I still need to try this out, while I am scared to ruine a drawing then XD
Also the soft background is just in amazing harmony with the drawing. Gives it a special feeling. Many Kudos XD

Just reading your words, it makes me want to get seriously drawing again like the good days. The hair was quite fun where when I finally used the H pencil, everything seemed to fit into place. ;D
No, I don't usually use ballpoint for graphite drawings - I just pressed down hard when shading with 9B.

It's truly wonderful, I'd just like to ask, if you don't mind, how is this possibly a drawing? It looks so life-like, I wouldn't think for one minute if you told me it was a photograph.

Thank you for the compliment. If you compare my drawing with ~xKimJoanne 's photo, you'll see there are innaccuracies in my drawing. Also my blending is quite rough.

This was purely experimental - random photograph, brand new pencils and newly learned techniques, so I'm glad it combined together in a positive way.

Yes, I studied art at college and then an art institute, but they didn't teach me how to draw any pure realism. I sort of learnt the techniques from looking at artists here on deviantArt. Thank you for the huge compliment.

Keep learning new things and practising it. I always start with the dark areas, then build the drawing from there. Blending the pencil shading certainly gives the drawing a clean realistic look.

No, I rarely receive many comments, so it's always nice to read them. After I submit a drawing, the comments die down. My most popular artwork is a photo.
"Boos" are nothing new to me. It's amazing how easily people get jealous about nothing.
