Yeah I've tried to find out why it's white, but I haven't found out yet.

At first I almost didn't realize that this was in black and white. Really nice balance of tones, really nice composition: I like how the branches of the blossoms and the torii both have a horizontal, but slightly curved shape; it's pleasing and makes the eye swing back and forth across the image slowly, like a pendulum. I also appreciate that you cropped your photo to enhance the horizontal aspect.
