Description You all knew after THIS what was going to come next...

Yes, it's a huggable, snuggable, (undressable ) Ed plushie in his stereotypical red coat. The coat is made of a red velour... sensual and smooth... damn Zap Brannigan... Anyway, his trousers, belt and boots are made of PVC to mimic leather and the rest of his clothes from black polycotton left over from Allen. The insignia and white details are acrylic paint. The body, as before, is cotton jersey and white cotton sheet fabric, but the automail is shiny metallic fabric which I found in the local haberdashery. I made the automail as ' authentic ' as possible, with a small amount stitched onto the torso as a ' port ' and on his left leg it stops at knee level. True, this is hidden detail but I know it's there Another 25-30 hours of hand crafting without machines, done mainly while re-watching Heroes season 1 and the odd episode of Lost.

I definitely have the plushie making bug now. I have planned to craft Haruhi Suzumiya and Ichigo from Bleach next, but they probably won't be until the Easter holiday or even summer as exam revision kicks in from now.

The picture at the end is mainly to show Ed's automail, but there was a slight level of fangirl humour on my part I put him in the wicker chair with my other creations while I was finishing his clothing and it struck me that Pippin-cat had got lucky ^^

NOT MAKING ON COMMISSION! Want to give it a go yourself? Try here for basic patterns, although bear in mind I customised mine heavily.

Awe! The Ed-Plushie is so cute! He looks great! You did a good job. I wish I could make plushies. It looks hard to do.

Thank you All it takes is a little perseverance and a basic level of sewing skill.

Thanks. Hehehe, then he can run round my room and get all annoyed when I call him short

Aruman In reply to Heliotrope-Housecat [2009-03-04 04:42:02 +0000 UTC]

lol, Edward would make the funniest Mod soul.

Heliotrope-Housecat In reply to Aruman [2009-03-04 04:50:47 +0000 UTC]

He would indeed Full of anger and rage... and he'd run off to the library all the time. Maybe I could give him my assignments to do and promise him a Philosopher's Stone if he does them well

Aruman In reply to Heliotrope-Housecat [2009-03-04 04:52:27 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, and now he's even sorter, would you ever swallow an Ed soul candy?

Heliotrope-Housecat In reply to Aruman [2009-03-04 15:55:07 +0000 UTC]

Probably not...

If you could eat a soul candy made from any anime character who would you choose?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heliotrope-Housecat In reply to Aruman [2009-03-05 01:44:43 +0000 UTC]

Probably none. I'm happy with myself and it's not like I'm Ichigo and have to separate my soul from my body on regular occasions However, I would shove soul candies of my favourite characters into plush toys and have an army of Kon-like beings...

Aruman In reply to Heliotrope-Housecat [2009-03-05 02:14:09 +0000 UTC]

lol, not Kon in personality but in similar doll appearance. (if they all had his personality, well lets just say you wouldn't get much sleep )

Hawt That's what I have now. I have my Allen doll and my Edward doll. Of course, I'm uber lazy and don't want to make my own. Yours are very well done.

Heliotrope-Housecat In reply to camoqueen [2009-03-04 04:17:11 +0000 UTC]

Thank you
May I ask where you got your Allen doll from? I can only find Timcanpy plushies.

camoqueen In reply to Heliotrope-Housecat [2009-03-05 12:20:35 +0000 UTC]

amazon.com (Allen Walker plush) , but just as a warning - cuz you might not find it funny - My Allen has purple eyes and eyebrows. Dunno why, but I like it(I'll have to get a picture of him soon) .It doesn't look that bad, and it might've been just mine, but I dunno. That's the only Allen doll I could find.

Heliotrope-Housecat In reply to camoqueen [2009-03-06 11:59:44 +0000 UTC]

Ah man, I can't get certain things from there and I think toys are one of them! Stupid international shipping... Never mind, I'm sure he'll find his way somehow to a con here within a year or so, probably when the dub is released over here or something

camoqueen In reply to Heliotrope-Housecat [2009-03-07 00:45:13 +0000 UTC]

Allen's the only thing I've ordered off amazon.com. Works for Canada (or at least Nova Scotia) but I dunno about other places.
Yeah I'm sure you'll aquire him one way or another

Hehe neat! Looks like plushie-Pippin's lucky day! How difficult is it to make a plushie, looks like lots of hard work!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heliotrope-Housecat In reply to RJ-Pilot [2009-03-04 01:49:50 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. It's not that difficult really (although then again, I have been sewing since I was around 3, or something crazy like that) just time consuming. If you want to start making them I recommend you begin simple, with small, easy to craft things first before working up to more complex projects, although I'd love to see the look on your friends faces if they discovered you sewing

RaptorBarry [2009-03-03 22:58:23 +0000 UTC]

this reminds me, i still have to work out how to use the sowing machine so i can jump on the plushie bandwagon.

anyways, nice job!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heliotrope-Housecat In reply to RaptorBarry [2009-03-03 23:00:41 +0000 UTC]

Thank you I make mine by hand - takes a bit longer but works just as well. Even using a machine you still have to do some hand sewing.

i was always bad at that. i bombed home ec in 7th grade. xD

Just takes a bit of patience and practice You don't necessarily have to be good at home ec to sew.
