Some how we lost the center pole of our tree (yes fake), within the year. Though we thought we knew exactly where it was we were sorely mistaken. We never found it (and since have bought a tree and maybe one more soon) but we needed a tree. It didn't feel like christmas with out one. Sooooo! in the corner that we cleared for the tree I strung up the lights (did I mention I had bought all new stuff last year on clearance for this year?) and garland. Then hung the bulbs from that, no topper but the skirt went under. It worked out fine and looks extremely pretty at night.

We had a bit of some problems, tape and thumb tacks weren't holding up the stuff, so we got frame mounting stuff and used that.
