A few are, some are just higher rank, reason why I got the guide book. Singcada is a B rank you can only find in the trees at Breezy hills park during the day, he looks just like Cadable but is a bit stronger but he's also one of the rare yo-kai so it can be a bit tough to find one. This makes me wish they put trading in the game.

Same...I'm currently trying to get the legendary sword for Chansin as I have the cursed sword...but getting the rare bugs is a huge pain.

To get the legendary blade you need 3 rare sawtooth beetles and 3 rare snakehead fish...just getting the normal ones are hard enough.

The battle/catching mechanics are completely different, and I honestly feel as though its more challenging to master, but a lot of elements are the same.
i probably like it so much because i was thirsty for a monster catching game, lets be real hahaha
