Well your work is amazing and to know that its done all by hand is very impressive also. If you look online there are plans showing how to make your own powerhammer. They work pretty well from what I've seen.

That pattern in the steel is so alive. Almost like wood. How long did it take to make it?
What is damascus? I'm not that famillar with smithing.

Well, damascus is a kind of mixture of steels. You take 2 or more different kinds of steel and at the right temperature you beat the crap out of them with a hammer.
Forging the head alone took me about 7-8 hours.

It seemed like some logic worked. I tought that it might be the method where two kinds of steel were mixed but it was more simple to ask.
Do I remember right if samuraj swords were made in a similar fashion?
