Description The original size of the dragon is 9X12. This piece was done with Ink and Pencil using a stippling and linework technique. After looking at the dragon's tail I realized that elements of nature seem to keep finding its way into most of my drawings.

Hello-Dali In reply to rastaman-deviant [2007-10-24 23:58:36 +0000 UTC]

David, thank you so much! I get extremely fine lines by using a .005 fine line ink pen and the shading is done with graphite pencils. Thanks for the compliment and I am going to take a look at your gallery now.

I really like your take on a dragon. It's unusual to find a dragon that seems friendly and almost dog-like with feathers and fur. On a site like this where everyone seems to be doing the same kind of work that everyone else is doing, it's good to see an interesting take. It's almost like a gryphon, so it has some historical validity to it as well.

Keep up the cool stuff. It's cool to see someone as young as yourself doing some really interesting stuff.

Joel, Thank you...what a wonderful compliment and I am glad you find it original. I really had fun creating him and well that tail just makes me smile. It's nice when someone notices the thought and details that go into each piece.

This is beautiful, and the tail with the leaf looks so lovely. Actually, the whole picture looks really textured, like the leaf and the spines/hair(?) on his back.
It's just amazing, and you're so good at art for your age. Well, for any age this would be brilliant.
, because I love it.

That's ok, it's definitely deserved! I'm glad my comments are 'encouraging' too! You can't help smiling at your work anyway - there is a kind of charm there. It's very natural, and quite serene looking. I love your style.

Elements of nature seeping into your art ... It's tail looks like a branch of a hemlock tree ... Which reminds me that I need to give my hemlock bonsai a pruning.

A wonderful combination of several mythos Dragons to become one that's uniquely yours Erin.

As always ... amazing work.

Thanks John....I keep seeing a tree also. It's one of those things where once you step back, tilt your head to the side and smile while thinking to yourself "where did that come from?" By then its to late....he has a tree on his tail.

LIKE I TOLD U STUDY ANATOMY IT CAN GREATLY ENHANCE ANIMAL AND HUMAN INVOLVED DRAWINGS. DONT JUST FOCUS ON DETAILS AND SHADING. DRAWING COMES FIRST AND DRAWING RIGHT KIND OF ANATOMY IS IMPORTANT IF U WANT TO BE PROFESSIONAL OR BEST AS YOU CAN BE.
