Ah, yeah, my bad. We're studying Russia and the Slavs right now in medieval world history. Kiev was prominent, being on the Dnieper and all, along with Novgorod on the Volkhov. But I guess that's medieval geography, so Russia must have lost the chunk of land now known as the Ukraine.

I completely agree , you did a great job on this. However, it's actually something completely different about this photo that spoke to me in the first place--the placement of the hands and the way the fingers fold about the camera, it's firm and protective yet quite gentle too. It shows love and caring for the photographer's most important tool.

These are such cliché photos. But clichés are clichés for a reason right? They're freakin' awesome, that's how they got to be so iconic. You did it justice! I love the general tone of the photo -- it really brings that vintage/retro feel across and makes you really notice the camera. The focus works really well to do that also! Good work.
