I find that a mix of light armor, frostbite spell, and a good sword works well for me

Normally I use the Puppeteer Master mod to make characters move (as seen on the Skyrim Nexus: www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/… ? ) but I also make a lot of use of the console commands on the PC.

I've had this happen, not really the dragon part but chasing an elk all over Skyrim and that, then getting attacked by a bear.
Shame bears don't drop meat, they should sabre cats to and wolves, meh ah well, there's always Feldar's Tooth.
