Description It's been a while since I've submitted a character-centred wallpaper, the last being "Torvald Faust" , or a photo manipulation, for that matter. But when I saw the downright gorgeous stained glass window stock, my creative juices got flowing again and before I knew it, I had 'lost' many hours to this piece. It only felt right to add in my only religous zealot; Inquisitor Astor Deorad of the Holy Church of Kriegrimm.

The photo of this character was taken by Ork de Rooij and I have exclusive permission to use it. If you use it without his consent, I will come to hunt you down like the heretic you are

Inquisitor, I refuse to recognize your authority! You have no right to take me in and I will not cooperate! There is nothing you can do to get me to confess to a crime I have not committed! Now if you will please let me be on my way so that I may report your nefarious activity to the authorities!

"Suppose I do let you go on your way. What authorities will you talk to if those authorities gave me the right and duty to do what you call 'nefarious activity'? You are a misguided soul and I will show you the error of your ways, whether you like it or not."

Inquisitor, you are frightening me! It appears that the authorities would laugh at me if I report your activities! You have the expression of a cold, calculating, merciless agent of the Inquisition! You mention heresy; heretics were subjected to medieval torture, which ended centuries ago! Wh-wh-what are you going to do to me? Surely there must be a means of escape! Someone must help me!

"If you call the river you need to travel to reach the Truth 'fear', then call me the Ferryman...Torture, ser, is such a crude word. I prefer 'extraction of truths'. Now, we are strangers, but before I am done, I will be aquinted with your quircks!"

Eek! I fear you are evil enough to discover and exploit my weaknesses!

Very well, Inquisitor. I will submit to the "extraction of truth", which conjures up all sorts of horrific, unspeakable thoughts and images, but you will find that I know nothing and am guilty of no crimes! You will certainly come to agree that you have the wrong man and a decree will be issued, ordering me freed from your evil clutches!

"Evil? Truly, you are misguided. Though I realize the common folk do not always understand our methods, but rest assured that the Inquisition has the best in mind for the devout followers of Kriegrimm here on Albion."

It is obvious that you are completely devoted to your mission, Inquisitor! The word "Inquisition" conjures up so many frightening images: the sadistic glee of the interrogators, the helplessness and desperation of the restrained prisoner, the rack, the Spanish chair, thumbscrews and toescrews, the stocks, the pillory, water torture of various types, the Iron Maiden: surely you would not resort to any of these hideous and horrific devices, would ya? How would you "extract the truth" from an unwilling victim, Inquisitor?

"As a rule of thumb, I do not resort to any 'hideous and horrific' devices at all. Too unwieldy. I travel a lot, so, I have just a few knick-knacks. A few things one picks up on the road. Nothing fancy. A pick...a knife...the fine arts of holding a conversation..."
