Gray's awesome ice-make powers meant having tons of versatility at his frosty fingertips, like devouring Esdeath's ice attack. But, Esdeath likely wouldn't fall for any enemies tricks or trump card especially to Gray more than once. Though the queen of cold kink definitely had more ice power up in her sleeves. Even with Gray's better resistances, there's no way he could survive that much magic force, so his only shot was the "Lost Ice Shell" but Esdeath stop it with her "Mahapadma" though Gray's ice devil ability resist it. Gray's speed and versatility meant he could hold his own, but Esdeath awesome power, uniquely suited time freezing, and domineering perseverance saw her through this battle. Looks like Esdeath stopped Gray cold.
