This is the Giants Causeway yesterday morning, a terrible dawn with no colour in the sky, rain & strong winds blowing the spray everywhere... but mostly over my filters
I'm putting it up because, basically, it's the most scared I've ever been when taking a photo! Those rocks are so slippery, felt like I was walking on ice.

I used a Cokin P.121L fitler for this shot, as it was a dark rainy morning I didn't need a very strong grad to hold in the sky.

I've always wanted to visit the Giant's Causeway - along with a list of other places. It seems almost unearthly to me - the rocks cut into such fantastic hexagonal shapes, piled along the shore.
The dark foreboding presence in this picture made by the chill blue of the dawn gives it a lot of feeling.

It portrays a feeling of being lost in a cold vast empty space. Eery and chilly yet very beautiful. This is one is a treasure!

Been there last summer and it was wonderful... Though full of tourists I have to admit
I love the peaceful, slightly somber atmosphere you captured in that photo... it's so different from the impression I got when I went there. As I said it was crowdy and sunny - the opposite of what we see here. But... damn, I like the opposite!

damn i missed Ireland aloooot
and yes its veryyyy slippery, my friend actually fall down in the water ! he was shaking 4 hours !

there is a place near me with the same kind of rock formations. it is truly beautiful. I've always wanted to visit Giant's Causeway.

I think there's quite a few of them around the world - it's to do with how lava flows cool. It's certainly an interesting landscape to photograph

yeah, it has to be basalt rock and it has to be cooled extremely fast by water for the columns to form.

Lovely shot, you should make this available as a print too, it would make a lovely xmas present for one of my flat mates (She's from northern ireland and she showed me pics about the Giants Causeway)
