It was a bit overexposed. That's why i didn't post it for a long time. But a bit of curves fixed that.

Ich habe eine Canon 20D digitale Spiegelreflex. FΓΌr die Nahaufnahmen benutze ich meist mein Macroobjektiv.

Green is rare on butterflies. I can't think of any wild ones in my area that are green. But if you go to any israeli macro photographer's page you'll find plenty green ones with white. Three of my favourite butterfly house butterflies are green. The Malachite, the Tailed Jay and the Emerald Swallowtail.

The butterlfy house where most of my shots were taken is just a big hall with a glass roof/walls. There are lots of flowers and plants in there so it's not difficult to get natural looking pictures. It's warm an humid in there and there are lots of tropical and subtropical butterflies.
I also like taking pictures of wild ones, but i've not been very succesfull so far.

It was a bit too bright straight out of the camera. So it didn't look all that good. But plaing with the curves a bit luckily fixed that.

The macro lens certainly is my most beloved and most used lens. Not just for macro shots.
The focus isn't exactly on the eyes if it's that what you mean with not much sharp. But on the wings you can actually count the scales at 100%.

Maybe it's just my screen which is crap... I think the focus has to be on the wings exactly as it is.

Thank you. I wouldn't have called this piece simlistic, but i guess there's really no simpler way to photograph a butterfly than the right angle to wing approach.
