Looks like Ganondorf is the one in a costume this Halloween!

This is my recreation of the Phantom Ganon battle in the Forest Temple of Ocarina of Time. I spent a lot of time trying to recreate the room where the battle takes place. I even had to recreate the paintings in a separate render, then I turned that render into the paintings. I also had to make the texture for the floor, recreating the design in Illustrator, then adding that to a stone texture and scaling it appropriately to fit the object. The last custom thing I made was the guard-rope around the battle arena. I didn't have anything that worked well, so I created it in Blender and added some shaders I had in DAZ. Outside of custom models and textures, I also added some extra details like the vines and roots growing over the walls and paintings. Since the temple was basically an abandoned mansion deep in the forest, I felt it was fitting for the room to be a little more overgrown than it was in the game. The Link and Ganondorf models are from Hyrule Warriors, but I had to get the Phantom Ganon mask from Breath of the Wild. I tried a different lighting technique on Ganondorf to make him look more ominous and menacing. I tried to keep the lighting for the whole scene dark but hopefully not too dark that you can't see the details.

In Photoshop, I did some very minimal lighting edits and brightened some of the highlights on Link's shield. It didn't seem shiny enough, but it was simple enough not to need another render. Lastly, I added the smoke effect around Ganondorf. I thought it helped make him look spookier and more "ghost-like," which I thought was fitting for holiday.
