Description Okay. There is a black n' white version too, dunno if going to upload it or not.
||Edit||Ok, here it is :

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is actually a re-imagination of the "Starving Buddha" statue. Buddha is said
to be without eating and sleeping for days and days before illumination. At
the extreme, nearly death, condition, he gained Illumination and that's when
the "Benevolent Buddha" imaginary was created. He was full and "fat" not of
material flesh but of divine life consciousness and happiness.

Also takes root in a heretical buddhism that went on in Japan around 1700;
based on the concept that "Everything is nothing" and "Opposite are the
same", this kind of buddhism reverted every single rite and celebration.
They would meditate on death, not life, of all things, sitten over a corpse in
a cemetery. If a pure virgin was needed for a rite, they would take a whore.
They would treat the unpure like pure, and so on.
That's the buddhist way of "All is One" taken to the extreme when celebrating
Death is the same as celebrating Life - where the Horror and the Grotesque is
the same as Comfort and Beautifully perfect.

please upload the black and white version its always good to see working progress but this is sweet I find what you did to mask your piece to be quite amazing tbh it just looks so cool and dark. It looks almost unwanted but at the same time grainy like a horror film

I really like the layers used in this image. Its chthonic yet still reflects an obscure meditative state that is ethereal. I'm new(ish) to digital manipulation of images but it seemed to me that the blood like stain in the upper right could have been darkened, muted or 'roughed up' a bit. It seemed to jump out, for me anyway, as being a little in-congruent with the rest of the image. Of course that might have been your intent! Very nice overall. I would love to see the B+W image too.

The bloodstain is a rapresentation of the Ying and Yang symbolism, so there is red in the blue. There was going to be a blue one in the red side too, but I don't remember why it felt not so good as idea as it was with the red .
Thank you!

Ok, I get that. I think leaving the image with only the red one was a good choice. The symmetry would have been a good symbol but I think leaving it less overt provides the viewer with some Mystery.

So that's what I had in mind to trasmit with this piece .
