Description Ah, Supernatural, I have too much fun painting you.

18x24 in acrylic and gold leaf.
Many of the figurative details were done using a magnifying glass (each face is roughly the size of a nickel.)
Unfortunately, it's been extremely hard to get a proper photo that captures much of the detail I slaved over...so I've been considering getting it professionally photographed for prints.
I wanted to post it here first to see what kind of reception it would get and if it was worth dishing out money for a professional-- so let me know what you think!
I have a detail photo of the figures posted on my tumblr if you want a better view: thirtyartsix.tumblr.com/post/6…

UPDATE: Professional photos came in! Detail, hurrah!!

fantastic.  i had to look at this for a sec, the car is really really well done. as is the grass and background.  I can tell u I for one know how frustrating it can be to draw grass lol.

Many thanks. A natural sea sponge helps with foliage and grass texture.

I think you did a wonderful job!  The guys, the background and especially the Impala are all really well done and nicely detailed.  I imagine a professional photo would really make those little details pop.

Thanks for your feedback! I may just bite the bullet- it's frustrating not being able to reproduce it properly.

No problem-it's a wonderful painting!  I definitely know what you mean.  Even when I scan, I never get the all the subtleties of my drawings.

Reproducing traditional art for online viewing/prints is definitely a big pain in the butt. I always feel like, "But...but..but...it looks better than that, I promise!"

Wow. The painting on the car looks pretty incredible. I don't know how you captured that reflection so well.

Is that gold leaf on the background?

Thank you.
Yes- It's imitation gold leaf.

Cool! It looks very nice! Would that still work well with a print?

I'm hoping so Essentially it would be like what you see now, so I don't see why not.
