History:

During Japan’s Edo period, there was one legend that time had forgotten and only a handful had shared the tale. It talked about two beasts battling for the world, one being from the Earth itself, the other, from the heavens above:

“The Earth’s mouth spreads wide open and spewed out a lion. The lion walks with the stance of a man and had arms that grapples the seas to shreds and wrestles the sun to submission. It was rock and flesh, hair and fire, all put together in one powerful beast.

Then, the heavens’ mouth screeched and out came a dragon from the mouth it screeched at. The dragon bore three heads and breathes lightning and hatred to the cities. It flew in golden wings and it screeches like the heavens, with the sound of bells and the roaring ocean itself.

The two holler challenge and challenge is what they got. For seventy days and seventy nights, the moon and the sun were the grand watchers, along with the flowers, the trees, the dirt and the water, the waves and the rocks; all of that of nature’s creation gripes in fear as the dragon and the lion bites, scratches, roar and choke one another. Soon, the two let out a final roar and a flash of light covered the world and thus the dragon and the lion was no more.

Man saw them, the fate of them; the lion returned to the rocks and became one with the earth and the dragon flees back to heaven and never to be seen again as the sun destroys its trail back, blurring away any traces of the dragon for both the beast and man’s sake.”

So far, the legend remains a legend until a group of archeologists had founded a statue of Kami Shisa, the great lion guardian somewhere in Kyoto, Japan at the year 2009. The battleship Gotengo, an anti-kaiju warship, also had its first mission at the same time the discovery was done and that is when they also found the strange wall of ice heading to Hong Kong, China. As it all turns out, an alien creature that generates cold had made its way to Earth and began feeding at the planet’s ozone. When Gotengo couldn’t stop it, HKDF called in JSDF for reinforcements, the rouge team !NIGHTjUNK! was a part of it.

All the while, the archeologists continue their research and somehow awakened the sleeping god by placing a “misplaced” jewel unto the creature’s forehead, thus reviving Shisa. Sensing the danger, Shisa quickly swam away to Honk Kong, now at the mercy of the ice monster. When Shisa got there, he quickly fends off the alien but somehow, in a twisted turn of events, mistaken by the JSDF, save !NIGHTjUNK! as another threat. Shot down and wounded, !Nj! interfered the assault knowing what the poor creature’s true intention was. Unconvinced, the main officer ordered the soldiers to bound the creature and held !Nj! in surveillance, until further notice and until they are sure that the creature was no threat.

The alien creature, now dubbed “Mizuchi” reappeared now in Indonesia and continues his ill will. Escaping from the clutches of the Japanese defense force, !Nj! fend off and rescues “Caesar”, who in return, guided them to his next battle.

When they reached Mizuchi’s path, the two colossi battled it out with a series of “tooth and nail” quarries. Caesar somehow gained the upper hand by blasting Mizuchi with lightning bolts from his eyes and electrocuting the ice monster, thus critically injuring it. But at a dire moment, Mizuchi dug and “planted” himself into the Earth and channels the core thus starting a series of eruptions. The creature developed hatred to his recent target decided suicide-murder, to millions! If he can’t have this planet, no one can! Caesar decided to sacrifice his life as well, so he may control the Earth’s massive change and hope to overthrow Mizuchi’s. Caesar throws himself into an open fissure and the eruptions slow down to nothing. Mizuchi, with his body dying to a meltdown, faces his fate and his mistake. A plan failed miserably after all of the effort.

As for Caesar, he was never seen again as a living creature, but somehow, the “statue” the archeologists found was there again after a few weeks from the battle. King Shisa lives on…

(notes: the Dragon in the legend had a surprising resemblance to King Ghidorah, which only had appeared in Earth by the year 2008. Could this mean Ghidorah had attempted to destroy Earth before?)

Powers and abilities:
~ can generate electricity and fires them as bolts through his eyes
~ black-belt level martial arts
~ agile jumper
~ built physique strong enough to surpass himself
~ body, despite how organic he appears, is pure living and regenerating rock.
