Well this is Entry #1 for *BlueGhosty 's contestEntry #1 is "Draw 1 OFFICIAL Pokemon in a realistic style"
So I went for a realistic Magcargo XD
Who doesn't like taking hours to create lava coloration and pahoehoe?! I'm actually really proud of how this piece turned out ^_^

Eee I love the realistic looking eyestalks and pebbly texture on the body! It keeps the whole magma look of the original while looking more believable as something organic :3

It may be a more literal interpretation of a realistic magcargo with no real explanation of biology, but all the same you did a fantastic job. Your lava looks incredibly believable and I love it's bulbous eyes.

This is lovely~! Magcargo is one of my most favorite pokemon, it's very interesting looking at it in a different way than the cartoony pictures. C:

At first I tried to do it without any lines at all..and lets just say I'm not ready for something like that XD I'm really pleased with the results myself. Lol yes, mostly all of this was done with the watercolor tool on SAI

I think this is an awesome depiction of Magcargo! Especially love the realism of its eyes, like how there is a thin film covering it, as well as its cracking skin.

Lol, thanks. But, I don't think I have much of a chance with my other two. I'm rather new to making my own pokes and I think I really could have done better--but at least I got this one out of the experience XD

This is a phenomenal entry! I absolutely love what you've done with his texture making it seem semi cooled enough to crack, yet still scalding! it's fantastic!

It was a pain to create, but I gotta admit, it was worth the effort ^_^ The way I saw it was like his skin is constantly cooling, but as he moves, hotter waves cascade and roll over the cooler parts. So the constant flow of lava keeps him from hardening like his shell has

I did my best to make sure it gave off a 'flowing lava' feeling as well as make sure the intensity is random throughout.
