I really like the looser look to the lines of the background. Definitely a very interesting way to give a sort of "storybook" feeling without losing realism. It fits really well with the anime look to your character--that sort of balance between real and not-real. I love the details of the clothing, and the interesting pose (one hand in hair, the other on the sword! haha!). On close inspection there is something a little wonky about the left side of her face, but I love how beautiful her eyes turned out. Overall, a really interesting piece! Definitely going into my faves. ^^
