Description I took this photo in a place called Vidlin, one day my daughter and I were out with the car. As you can see it was flat calm and frosty, a lovely day.

Yes tourism is very important here in Shetland. The little museum I work in, opened yesterday, so the season has started again.

You should send pictures of items or start a
web site for them if they don't have one.

We would all like to see these pictures and if
they will do mail order. The only thing is you
should think about your privacy real hard.

It would also be interesting to see historical
places. Andy old battlefields? etc.

I would like to visit those places.
I always feel that I can feel the history
when I'm in such a place.

Kris and I wanted to visit there Stonehenge
when we retired but our health will not easily
permit. I's a shame that now with all this
baby boomer generation that they don't come
up with a special airplane that would make the
whole thing easier. I have trouble taking a
cab to the airport and it's only about 7 miles
away. From my house I can see the airplanes
landing in at Logan. I sat here on 911 and watched
the second plane hit when, less then an hour before,
it was practically in my back yard.

Nice pictures. I would like to take pictures of
horses.

OK, I'm catching on. So If I
jump up in the air and can stay
up for 4 hours. Then the earth
will turn underneath me and we
can meet in 4 hours. You better
be right. I don't want to be
standing in the water.

Right?

I have others from the same album to send but
I have to send them max 2 at a time. Then I

the Amazon ad and then the cover later.

[link] She is fairly
modern and innovation. Improvises her own version of some
music so that it is more listenable. I liven to her
a lot to get to sleep at night. I have some specail
Brizilian stuff too that will turn you into a lizard if
you are interested.

Well I have managed to listen to maybe the first 4 of the songs you sent me, but not had a chance to hear the rest yet. I need peace on my own to get to hear the music, as if someone else is in the room, I need to turn it down as I am the only one who likes classical music here

TheCandleobra In reply to Heylormammy [2011-04-21 22:29:58 +0000 UTC]

no hurry. I want you to listen when
you can really listen. You would be
amazed at how many people on here I
meet who have your same circumstances.

I forget often how this takes me all
around the world to all kinds of people
and places. My family wasn't much into
classical but I was in a big way when
I was growing up. I had the public
Library across the street and worked
there since I was 13 - 15 No Child
Labor laws for volunteer work up to
14. They had records too and places to
listen with headphones. I got to use it
all even when the Library was closed. In
return I would read storied to the kids
after school during story hour and would
put away all the books that they brought
back away on the shelf's.

What a lovely story

TheCandleobra In reply to Heylormammy [2011-04-22 12:19:42 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. We use to make popcorn too
the old fashioned way. I wanted to
teach the kids to read too by having
them take turns reading the story but
an old grouch librarian was afraid
that some kids who couldn't read so
well wouldn't show up. She wasn't
afraid that they wouldn't learn to
read!

I learned to read by reading comic books
with my friends. If one of us didn't know
a word than somebody else did and that made
the fun happen. In 5th grade I could read
on a 12th grade level.

I always loved books too. When I was little I would go to the shop with Dad, and occasionally I would have a little money to spend. In the back of the old counter serve shop, was another room called the "showroom" which held fancy items like household things and gifts, toys and books. If possible I spent my pennies on the latest Enid Blyton book. I adored her stories and had every book I could find

TheCandleobra In reply to Heylormammy [2011-04-22 13:06:04 +0000 UTC]

I was swimming in books growing up.
My Uncles would buy us comic books
and we had the library. Downtown
where the book stores and we had
the BIG Trenton Public Library. Huge
two story public building. I read
about 3-8books a week until I became
ill then it dropped to "only as necessary"
which is almost none at all. I mostly
read science fiction. I taught myself a
lot as a kid. Leared the morse Code and
obtained the General Class radio telephone
license when I was 12. When 19 I had passed
the 2nc class Commercial Radio license.
Needed to repair police radios and equivalent
of 2 year college advanced placement.

I will wait to buy your painting. I still have
to get Kris to go along with it. Any resistance
and I will have to back off. She is real nervous
about money since she lost her job and her
mothers care will be expensive depending on what
we do to keep her. Where MOM's concerned we
can't expect them to be very pragmatic or
rational. Her mother could outlive all of us.
