Two years have passed since the last Redo Meme, so I thought I might as well do another to keep up the line (first 2009-2011, now 2011-2013)
It's Cheshire, yay! The old pic still gets a weird amount of attention, but I suppose at that time it really was a job well done. 2011 was the year I one day sat down with may tablet, started my very first digital painting (a green dragon-lizard-thing in a Bamboo forest) and decided to 'Screw this Cellshading business, I'm gonna paint shit and I'm gonna be awesome.' Haha, probably the best decision in my life, I've stuck to it -and that's where it got me so far, two years later.
The difference isn't as grave as in the first meme, though it's still good for the relatively short timespan I think. But you guys should be the judge of that

You've improved an amazing amount since the last Cheshire Cat, believe me... the second painting is more refined, the anatomy more correct, the choice of colors better, your use of light made it more vivid and 3D, the background forest is creepier, the fur oh-so-much fluffier, the tail is better (GRAB HIM BY HIS TAIL AND SQUEEZE THAT FLUFFBALL!! ahem, sorry), the eyes look more real, the teeth pointier. Now just keep up the practice for another year and lets see where you get!
Thanks for sharing the comparison of the two pics, I love seeing how artists improve over time... its very encouraging to see that people do improve markedly over time even if one sometimes feels you aren't getting anywhere at all. :')

Ah but you see, the difference here is huge- your second drawing is far more refined, the colour choice is better, the layout of the image is better, the lighting is better, the branch is better, the background is better, the fur layout is better, the anatomy is better... It's fantastic! You've improved so much! And be expecting a wall of text on your newest one. XD
