well, he's actually the Nightmare King, but in a way, he IS a guardian.
He's the spirit of fear and darkness, but fear can also protect in a way like one of the comics drawn by rufftoon said so.
"Fear Protects"
and Pitch was basically turned into the creature he is today because he wanted to protect his daughter, so out of his desire to protect her, he was taken over by the fearlings and he is now Pitch Black, the king of nightmares, the boogieman, but also the guardian of fear/protection.

but I just put him in there, and in a way, Jack is the spirit of mischief and chaos while Pitch is the spirit of fear and nightmares, they'd still make good guardians.

They're a few of the things at help us in life.
they're what guides through everything. Wonder, Memories, Dreams, Hope, Fun, and Nightmares are what comes in life. We all have them.
They're what keeps us together and united, and they keep ourselves together.
They've always kept us together.
So that we never fall apart inside ourselves. And as long as we have them... we'll always stay together.... with each other, and oursleves...
