Description It was a dark and quiet street. The remaining dead leaves blew through the night air as the newly Spring leaves grew on the trees and shook from the chilling wind. A dark figure scuffed its way across the sidewalk. It breathed heavily and coughed a bit every now and then. It was stumbling as it made its way to a particular building. It was the current home of Sadako. The figure looked up at her window. Her bedroom light was still on.

Sadako sat in her room. She was busy doing homework for a class she was falling in. She was determined to pull her grades up. She stopped on one question and held her head as she read over the question over and over. It just didn't make sense to her. She was tempted to ask Stu to tutor her, but she knew that that would only distract her. The thought of Stu being in her room made her squirm a bit. She could ask Esther. She seemed to be an ace student. Michael's new friend, Matilda, also seemed to be a bookworm type. Maybe she knew enough to help her out. She did seem to hold a lot of horror knowledge. With the class being Horror History it seemed like a good idea. It would also give her a chance to befriend her. Sadako grabbed her phone and began to text Michael about getting Matilda's number when there was a knock on the door.

“Nani?” Sadako looked up from her phone. She put her phone down and got up. She opened her bedroom door to look down the stairs at her front door. Everything was still. It seemed strange. It was a single knock. Sadako gulped. She left her room and crept down the stairs. It was pretty late, so she had no idea who was out at this hour. She quietly came to her door and unlocked it and cracked it open.

“Hai?”

Stu stood on her front steps. He clung to his chest with one hand. There was a spot under his hand that seemed to cover the letters on his hoodie. He seemed to be panting deeply and softly under his mask. There was a spray of blood dotting his mask forehead. His hoodie seemed a little torn in a few places too. Sadako's dead heart began to quiver in her chest and for the first time in awhile. She could almost feel blood run through her veins. A shiver ran up her spine and her eyes widened.

“WHA-?!”

“Hey...Sadako,” Stu said in a weak voice.

Sadako could only stare with shock at her boyfriend. “W-what happened?!” she cried.

Stu stumbled inside and propped himself up again. “I was pissed...so I went to kill Sidney...she got the better of me...”

“A-are you okay?” Sadako asked softly. Surely he was only beaten up a bit. Stu looked at her. She couldn't tell what he was thinking. No matter how hard she tried she could never see his eyes through the dark cloth that covered the eye-holes of the mask from the inside. Stu took his hand away from his chest. Sadako's eyes widened with fright when she saw the hole in his hoodie. It was then when she realized that his hoodie was stained with blood; his blood. The stain began to get bigger as Stu wobbled a bit where he stood.

“I have a hole in my chest...do I look okay...?” he managed to say.

It was at that moment when darkness over-took his eyes and he felt the world drift away. Stu closed his eyes and felt the air rush past his head. He fell back on the floor with a loud thud. Sadako screamed.

“STUART-KUN!”

***

Stu opened his eyes. His vision was blurry and his hearing was muffled. His long hair made it harder to see. He tried to move, but everything hurt. He decided to just lay as still as he could. However, the one thing he couldn't feel was his chest. His body was throbbing as blood pumped through his veins, but his chest was as numb as a rock. Using his eyes without moving his head, he looked around. He was laying in a bed in a white room. There was what looked like a TV mounted in the corner of the room. A door remained shut at the other side of the room. Just then some hearing came back. There was a beeping sound. Stu looked to his side. There was a machine and blood pouch mounted next to the bed.

“I'm in a hospital,” he thought with realization.

Just then the door opened. A person came in. Stu could barely see as their mouth moved. When they got closer he could make out who it was. It was his mother. Her face was red and wet. She looked like a mess. Her eyes were red and she was mumbling something as she knelt down next to his bed. Stu could feel her hand on his forehead. She was stroking his hair. She was joined by someone else. Her white and black color let him know right away who it was. Sadako leaned in and looked over at him from behind Ginny's shoulder. Her face was wet too and her hair seemed out of place. Stu tried to crack a smile. It hurt. He tried to lift his arm up to her, but his mother grabbed his arm and pushed it down. He suddenly started to pick up words.

“Don't.”

“Rest.”

“Scared.”

“Why?”

“Gomennasai.”

Stu looked at them trough blurry eyes.

“M-mom?” he managed to murmur. Ginny's face lit up and she smiled. She stroked his hair and sniffed a bit. Sadako wiped tears away with a wet sleeve and smiled.

“Just rest, baby. I'm here,” Ginny said in a soft, broken voice.

Stu didn't respond, but he gave a weak nod. Just then a doctor entered the room. Stu barely recognized him as the Hammer Dr. Frankenstein. He quietly told the two to leave the room to let him rest. Ginny kissed Stu's cheek and patted his head before leaving. Sadako walked up next to him and touched his cheek. She leaned in and gently gave him a quick kiss on the lips. She put her mouth to his ear and whispered something.

“Heal fast, you baka.”

Stu looked at her as she left the room. Her words were harsh, but he heard the hurt in her voice. She was scared and hurt emotionally. Everyone left the room and the door closed again. Stu looked up at the ceiling. The room seemed to be rocking back and forth. It was like as if the bed was moving on its own. He closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Meanwhile outside the room, Dr. Frankenstein was going over Stu's condition with Ginny and Sadako.

“The surgery was a success. He pulled through,” he told them.

“Thank God,” Ginny said with a cracked voice.

“W-what happened...?” Sadako stammered.

Dr. Frankenstein looked at her. “Stuart suffered from multiple bruises, a few cuts, and a stab wound to the chest. He nearly had his nose broken, but it was just dislocated.”

Sadako covered her mouth. She felt like she was going to throw up. She quickly turned and ran down the hall; right past Jason as he came around the corner.

“Ah, Sadako. How's Stu-”

Sadako brushed past him before he could finish. Jason watched Sadako as she entered the woman's restroom. Sadako ran to the first open stall and threw up. Her veins were pulsing under her skin. She felt like her body was coming to life again. Her dead stomach churned and she threw up again. It was unusual for her to throw up. She began to cough and started to pull her hair back. She breathed deeply and stayed in the stall until she was sure she was done. She looked up. All of her emotions were at their peak. She got up and left the stall. Placing her hands on one of the sinks, Sadako looked at herself in the mirror. She looked like a mess. She smirked at herself and turned the faucet on. Letting the water wet her hands she threw it on her face to wash her crusty cheeks. The door to the room opened and Ginny came in. Sadako looked at her through the mirror.

“The doctor says he should be able to leave in a few days,” Ginny said calmly. “Says he was strong and his body has already began to show signs of healing.”

“Oh, that's great,” Sadako said with a whimper.

Ginny came over to her and turned the ghost girl around to look at her. She looked into her one visible eye. Sadako looked back like a statue. Ginny had concern and understanding written in her eyes. Of course Sadako's mother wasn't alive anymore, but she knew the look well enough to know that Stu was lucky to have her.

“I know that you love him,” Ginny said rubbing her shoulder. Sadako looked away. Ginny continued to speak. “He's been so kind to you, and you have done nothing but give your time and your affection to him. I appreciate that.”

“I-I know,” Sadako said with a sniff.

“We were both afraid of losing him. I was afraid of losing a son, and you were afraid of losing a,” Ginny paused. Sadako looked at her.

“Boyfriend?”

“Well, you two seem to act more like a married couple sometimes.”

Sadako blushed. “What makes you think that?”

“Well of course I got married when I was young and stupid. I had Stu at an age too young.” Ginny looked down with embarrassment.

“How old were you?”

“I-it doesn't matter,” Ginny looked up at Sadako and gave her shoulders a gently squeeze. “Come on. Cheer up. At least he's alive. Right?”

“I feel awkward and rude.”

“Why so?”

“Well he's your son. Your flesh and blood!” Sadako looked at Stu's mother with a look of shameful embarrassment. “If anything I should be the one comforting you!”

Ginny smiled and pulled Sadako in for a hug. Sadako gasped. She was confused, but the hug was needed in her case. She felt more at ease.

“It's okay,” Ginny whispered. She ended the hug and looked at Sadako. “I already kind of knew he would pull through.”

“Huh?”

“When Stuart was younger,” Ginny began with a smile, “he got in a fight with another boy over who was the first true slasher or something. He came home with a lost tooth and a black eye.”

Sadako's eye widened. “Nani?”

“And do you know what the first thing he said to me when he got home?”

Sadako shook her head slowly.

“'I just met Michael Myers! Isn't that cool?'” Ginny said with a smile.

“You mean...that's how he met Michael?” Sadako asked with awe.

Ginny nodded. “He wasn't worried that he lost a tooth. Of course it was a baby tooth, but he was more concerned with meeting a new friend.”

Sadako began to cry a little, but wiped the tear away with a smile. The pulsing in her veins went away, and her nerves began to calm down. “I understand now,” she said softly.

Ginny hugged her. “Come on.”

Sadako smiled and walked with Ginny. The two of them walked out of the restroom together. While she did look like the typical mother of a normal child, she was more than that. Her son was indeed a psychopathic maniac, but she loved him and supported him anyway.
