Description
The colored version of [link]I wanted to experiment with the interplay of warm and cool shadows and steer completely clear of local color. This is the result.

I spend a lot of time on DA looking at various art and I must say I'm not overly fond of foxes with sixpacks & wolves pecks but every now and then you can come across something with so much style , warmth & character as to be utterly stunning ! Beautiful !

I'm not especially fond of that sort of thing either but it's what people pay for and if you want to stay out of a cardboard box sometimes you have to bow to that inevitability.

I know this has been here for years, but I just can't get enough of Khenti. i was delighted to be able to purchase some of your original pencil sketches of him at MFF 2012, and to finally meet you in person. Whenever I see him, I want to take him somewhere warm, buy him another cup of coffee, and ask him to tell me his story. He's a keeper.

I love the use of an Afghan here, as opposed to some other breed, it just really made the image for me. Beautiful.

This is gorgeous. Though most grey-toned paintings are meant to evoke feeling so sadness or loss, I get a very calming, peaceful vibe from this work. Excellent job.

Ooo wow shadows...I tried a similar idea once - I took a sketch someone else had done for me and experimented with sunset shadows playing from behind, but I didn't quite get it right. Not to mention, you've taken it to another level with the cool and warm shadows, it completely brings it to life. Well done!

A wonderful dignified anthro scene reminiscent of a foggy day. Thrilling to look over to absorb the wonderful details. I wish there was much more of this sort of thing, and a lot less of the pin-up sort.

I can't remember if I commented already or not (I think I may have on the earlier version?), but I have to say that this is one of my favorite pieces of your's. I really love all the textures, and the colors -- it gives the whole thing a very calm, neutral sort of feeling. His expression is great, and that tiny puff of breath sort of adds to the whole mood of the picture.

I missed the non-color of this. It has a strong lonely vibe, this may be because I'm lonely atm. I believe the bird really adds to the image a lot.
