I'm sad to say that when I first saw DS9, I was too young to understand what was truly going on, I was far, far more interested in Voyager and TNG, but even with how young I was, I think six or seven, I always like Odo. I didn't understand the poor man/changling and what he was going through but I knew even at a young age that the guy needed a hug and I really wanted to give him one.
I was only recently reintroduced to the series... typically it was the end of the last season, but at least this time I understood more or less what was going on (Thank you Wiki).
I still adore Odo, who besides from Worf and Chief, was the only character I remembered from the series, and I fell in love with him all over again. LOL, I need to get my hands on the DS9 series. Actually, all the Star Treks.
This is a great pic, it reminds me of the Odo who I adored as a child so much.

DS9 is great. When it first aired I was a little too young, I think, to get all of it. Sitting in a space station with a lot of political intrigue wasn't as adventuresome and goofy as TNG. Now I lurve both. 8D

And the animators from the Last Unicorn went on to join Miazaki to form Studio Ghibli, which is why there are so many similarities in the animation style between "Last Unicorn" and the first nearly-Ghibli film, "Nausicca". *knows lots of animation tidbits*

Hurray for Deep Space 9 characters and the changeling no less. To me that is the way he looks just before he saves his people from a disease on his home world, nice use of monochrome as well.
