OK, I admit that this is pretty much terrifying so I apologize in advance. I had been gripped with the desire to paint an anthro koifish, just to see what it looks like, and the result is something alienesque, androgynous, very pink, very scary.I don't know; sometimes I try to do something unlike my usual work and it always ends up more bizarre than anything.
I waffled on uploading the thing but decided that someone out there would want to see it.
The painting is tiny. Maybe six by four. Maybe less. It took around two hours.

I love the concept of this -- because I DO find it creepy, but I like creepy things. It's also very unique, and I dig the color scheme.
I'd love to see it as a more "finished" piece, but I do understand that it was a quickie painting.

Personally, I think you did a very good job with this. It definitely turned out androgynous, but anything is possible with new creatures right? Besides, if you didn't want that, I'm sure you could find a way to fix it in your next version, should you do another one.

I, personally find it more cool than scary. It's hard to come up with a way to combine fish and human traits in a really pleasing way but I think overall the way you combined them is pleasing. I also like the fact that you kept him looking neither overtly masculine nor feminine.

Wow I love it, I'm writing a sci-fi novel at the moment and this has really struck me, I'm sure I'll spend the rest of the novel trying to convince them that I don't want a humanoid race other than the humans in this novel.
Basically what I am saying is that this picture is beautiful and inspiring and brings to mind a personality as well as a look.
