We have this whole long story in our English ook about htis girl whose arm got bitten off by a shark but still wants to become a marine Photografer.
Personally, I am a bit scared of sharks, but know that they are NOT horrible beings who just really want to eat me, but I am just veeeery paranoid about everything.

It depends on the kind of shark! A bump-and-bite is usually just as it sounds, the shark will bump into a swimmer and give them a quick bite. These bites do sometimes draw blood, but the shark is far more likely to loose interest than continue to attack. Oftentimes, the most dangerous thing that can happen after a bump-and-bite is for the swimmer to panic. Sharks' diets are very hard-wired, and they don't often eat things bigger than their mouths can fit around!

Well I'm not like terrified but I would be uneasy if I saw a wild one and was swimming near it. And you don't know if that shark is starving or not.
But I still think they're cool :C
It's not like I have a PHOBIA of them. My fear is totally rational!

Ah, awesome ='D Just what the sharkies need, someone who tells people the truth. People are so miseducated about them, it's terrible. It's the one animal we are told throughout our life to fear, and when you swim with it, it most likely does nothing to you. I mean, some years ago, 4 people were killed by sharks. 652 by chairs. Not kidding

I saw it on the Hartford stage back in '05... Of course, the relationship with the girl I saw it with then was rough to say the least, but I still know enough to know the show's good!

And my summer's been busy. Working, trying to pay the rent, y'know how it is.
But I will be joining my family on Cape Cod for a few days this summer. We even managed to talk my dad into joining us on a whale watch.

It makes me sad how uninformed and irrationally scared people are about sharks! My mom took one look at that shark picture I was drawing and said "Oh! It's... a shark..."
My brother calls me weird for liking them, but what's not to like? They're amazing creatures, and not even half as dangerous as humans. Way too many sharks are killed by humans every year, but it's always the attacks by sharks that are played up by the media and hollywood.

And yes, that's always got to me, too! :C They're beautiful, graceful animals, and I don't think it's right that pretty much the only pictures the average person sees of them are somewhere along the lines of these- [link] [link] And there's always the fact that humans kill thousands upon thousands of sharks every year, while shark-related fatalities for us are extraordinarily low.
