A gang he stole from found the place where he and the children was living and burnt the area down. In an effort to save the children he inhaled too much smoke and passed out. Police and firefighters arrived but he was arrested as well because stealing is still stealing. Was sentenced to jail and died there without knowing what happened to the children.
