They are both blue-themed protagonists that act as heroes of a peculiar world, they both had the parental figures who were important people in the past before losing them having a well known scientist that took care of them after that (Sonic's parents were war veterans of the Acorn Kingdom and were robotized by Eggman being Sonic's Uncle Charles who wss the only family left to Sonic, X creator was Dr. Light who was a well known scientist in his world but he passed away being Dr. Cain that later would discover X), they would be very different that their peers having something special on them (Sonic being the Embodiment of Chaos and X being the first Sentient robot with a free will), both are part of a team of warriors that fight for peace and to save their worlds from different threats (The Freedom Fighters and The Maverick Hunters) who fight not only evil robots but brainwashed people from their worlds (The Badniks alongside the robotized people, The Mavericks either the ones who willingly became that or were infected), they have a really big sense of justice and are hot blooded warriors who cares for their friends, but sometimes they let their emotions take over (Sonic lost his cool when Eggman destroyed his home and when he though that he killed his friends leading to his defeat, X had always went into conflict with fighting and it took the support of his friends to try and motivate him in X7), their worlds had been betrayed by a member of their forces trusted by people who went mad with power and started to wreck havoc in their homes (Eggman and Sigma), they both had to fight one of his friends who was possesed by something that changed their personalities completly (Knuckles and Zero) an event that put in danger not only their universe but the whole multiverse would occur so they would team up with other Mega Mens that appeared due to this event tp try and stop it (The Super Genesis Wave who bringed Mega Man's Characters to Sonic's world and the errors in the Deep Log would bring other Mega Mens and other characters)
