Before reaching the surface. Before the vampire's curse. Before even the name of SpeedWagon. Ran'Olin was just another dark elf, hardly expecting to reach adulthood. He could never have known the path he'd later walk.

Every day, Olin would steal his food. One day, instead of taking an apple from the cart and trying to outrun the city guard, he would take the wedge that stopped it from rolling down the hill. A whole city block would see him riding the runaway fruit stand down the hill, until it hit a wall at the bottom. The fruit stand smashed and it's wares tumbling across the ground in every direction, a city full of hungry urchins would vanish the latter before anyone could do anything to stop them. Dazed and confused amidst the wreckage, Ran'Olin would be the only one who didn't manage to snag a fruit before the guards caught up. Fate, it would seem, has a cruel sense of irony

Though his idea bore him little that day, he would no longer suffer the name Ran'Olin. No longer tied to a name left by those who abandoned him, he came to be known for his deeds and would bear the name of Dan'Tragir: The Fast Cart
