Note 1: He did not wear his decorations in full accordance with the latest regulation on the arrangement of decorations on uniforms issued in 1938.
Note 2: The versions of ribbon bars of the Medaglia di Bronzo al Valor Militare shown here do not have a bronze star on them when the ribbon with the bronze star had been used for some time, this may have been an older version of the award where no bronze stars were used.
Note 3: At some point in mid-1938 the ribbon bar of the Croce di Anzianità di Servizio nella Milizia Voluntaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale that was originally awarded in 1933 was changed by adding a bronze sword to both the ribbon of the medal and the ribbon bar. Another medal for twenty years of service in the MVSN was created in 1943. It is unlikely that de Vecchi had the medal or the ribbon bar updated with the changes in 1938 as most holders of it who were awarded prior to 1938 continued to wear the 1933-issued medal and ribbon bar.
