Description
Here is my armor from the last movie of the Hobbit Trillogie, the armor of Thror that is Thorin wear short.I'm not quite finished before the premiere and still working on it. Some parts I will make completely new because they have become too large.
Until HobbitCon I will then have the complete outfit ready.
Materials are hard foam boards as a base and Worblas finest art.
By this choice of material the armor is very heavy (almost too heavy for me).

Totally in love with the weathering on that as well. I suppose on the light side of the heaviness, at least you got the accuracy on walking with heavy armor ? Even though I can only imagine the misery after a while from it all. But overall, I really love your pieces. My own build keeps getting delayed for some unknown reason. x.X;

I would be glad if my arms were not so heavy but yes by the weight I moved me more like a dwarf in a armor.
I need my body even more training so I can wear the armor longer.

I saw you wearing the armour in Tourism New Zealand's official London premiere video and was so impressed by how great you looked in it.
I'm surprised at the weight, it must be heavier than the one used in the film! I remember Richard saying the armour actually was the lightest costume among all Thorin's costumes.

Due to the material, my armor is also very thick thing where this is not so. I could make it easier but I will not have the money and space. Otherwise, I would pour out of a lighter material but for that I need only one time a complete make positive and negative create (and where am I supposed to merely store)
That's why I finally settled on Worblas finest art and hard foam plates.

Heavy... you mean it's real scale ? I thought is was a miniature (well, being a dwarven armour, it is somehow).

The armor weighs about 16 kg (only the armor). There is still some, including the chain mail is missing.
Most of the weight is on my shoulders at 2 points which will be painful after a while.
It's my first armor I've built and the first I wear. Very unusual.
