I'm not a fan of such vivid use of colourdodge/overlay and all... but you really used it extremely well here, the piece glows! Very nice, keep it up!

Well, if I can help (I just started using SAI, and also have photoshop) - the lineart is ridiculous amounts easier (and, in my opinion looks better). Also, it has this cool 'water' tool that blends and looks real neat. ^_^

I see wat u mean, I used to have PhotoShopCS3 (PSCS3) and i didnt like the line quality in that so much compared to SAI's ULTRA smooth crisp lines + the lines curvature were really smooth where as the CS3's didnt have it as tht good, the shading methond of CS3's was cool too, but I kno what u mean by SAI's water blender tool which looks OH so sexy, i mean its seriously smooth.
Thn came along CS4(photoshop) and it fixed ALL tht, CS4 has just as awesome line algorithm as SAI's now, plus is has the "rotate canvas on the fly" option so i can draw line i do in real life, by moving the paper around. Which SAI had. As for the shading, I found out tht if u turn the spacing to "0" in photoshop's brush editor u will get this ultra super soft shading much like SAI's but the only prob is, if u dont have a hefty CPU the brush strokes will lag in photoshop, where as SAI's, doesnt.
So yea, there are up's and downs, but CS4 has been totally revamped, in my opinion. But I cant use SAI's line tool. PS's PEN tool is the ultimate tool in an Art program.

The angle and colors make this almost perfect.
But the bird after close examination looks funny, and i'm not sure whether i like the feather in the bottom right hand corner blurred. not like it would change much.
Still, its so good i would consider buying a print. It crushes that one "popular" piece on the front page of a girl and a fire bird.
